This week will be a demanding one as we host UConn on Wednesday and travel to Cincinnati for a Saturday matchup. Although we will be underdogs in both games I am looking forward to seeing our team respond from a tough loss. There is no better opportunity to come together and motivate ourselves than when we face adversity. It is my belief that we will look back at the experiences from the beginning of this season, as a time that was necessary for us to have consistent success in the Big East for years to come. I want to thank our season ticket holders, our donors/supporters, and our fans for their support of the program. We are building the program so that we can be a contender each year without limits for our success. As we all are well aware of, this takes time, but I thank you for your support of the young men currently in our program. It is their hard work which will set the tone for the program for the future. In scheduling news we are still awaiting the field for the Cancun Challenge on 11/23-24 for next season. However it is not too early for those of you that are considering a warm weather destination mixed in with some great basketball. Thanks again for all the support! All the Best, Coach Keno Davis
Our win against DePaul was important for the progress of the program as it was viewed by many households because of the ESPN2 coverage. A chance for recruits to see our uptempo fastbreaking style has not gone unnoticed.
The focus of our staff going forward is twofold. One is on player development as we need to become better defenders, rebounders and shooters. The players on our team that will put in the extra time necessary to reach another level will be the ones that will determine our teams success. The other focus is that of recruiting. No staff in the country will outwork ours in the efforts of finding and attracting the best student athletes and the best fits for Providence College.

It was a week of some exciting basketball in Providence as we hosted Louisville on Wednesday and Rutgers Saturday night. Our team showed some very good offensive and defensive play in stretches on Wednesday, and came out focused Saturday. All in all a split for the week while gaining invaluable experience was a postive result.
Individually, we have already seen great progress from our young team. The statistic that stood out Saturday was Jamine Peterson's 29 point, 20 rebound game. Developing players to be multi-dimensional with their game is important for their individual and our team success.
We go on the road for a pair of games this week as we play DePaul and Marquette. We again will focus on effort, with the understanding that executing will come in time.
Thanks for your support and make sure to send in your questions under the "Ask Coach Davis" link.
All the Best,

The first two games of the Big East were not expected to be easy for us with tough tests at Notre Dame, and at St. John's. I thought we played hard in both games, and were fortunate to come out on top at St. John's giving us a 1-1 split for the road trip. It was definitely a good sign that we could come back to play well in the second half of the Notre Dame game and continue to have two good halves against St. John's. We understand that there will be ups and downs with such a young team this season, but effort must be the constant measuring stick for our ultimate success.
There was quite a bit of good feedback from the posting comparing our team this year to last season, so I will try and continue to give you that information. The following are national rankings from this date of the season.
| Category | 2009 | 2010 |
| Scoring Offense | 36th | 15th |
| Scoring Defense | 197 | 291 |
| Scoring Margin | 72 | 83 |

| FG % Defense | 180 | 170 |
| 3PT FG | 143 | 37 |
| 3PT FG % | 263 | 190 |
| 3PT FG % Defense | 34 | 91 |
| FT % | 194 | 116 |
| Rebounding Margin | 71 | 45 |
| Assists Per Game | 93 | 149 |

| TO Per Game | 162 | 39 |

Although statistics can at times be misleading, the more games we play, the more often they lead us to areas that we need to improve. Our staff and players are committed to working hard to become better individually and as a team.
Thank you for your support!
